OK, Gossy was/is amazing... yes, we've all got it and love it. But lets look beyond the niche audience to consider where Matt could go to with an album of covers to blow him into the US market, lets face it - EVERYONE BUYS THEM! Look what it did for Rod Stewart on the back of Robbie Williams 'Swing'... it was a total ride... but seriously, something very 'cool' could be done with a cover album, especially with Matt's touch and personal style.. It could be an ode to the Vegas past that he is embracing and being recognized for, including some of the scorching tunes he's including in the show.. Just a thought, but for me another album of original stuff on the back of Gossy aint really the way to 'swing'..

Yes, I think that would be a great Idea ! Or maybe release a double album, one with covers and one with his own songs. People might buy it forthe covers, but will give the other album a listen as well.

Funny you say this, I tweeted Matt the other night & mentioned this to him, their was a message up from Matt a while ago for ages that he left us saying he was doing / looking into doing a covers album, I think around the time when he mentioned about hoping to put out an album on his birthday each year if possible.
After I tweeted Matt, I got a few messages myself & people were re-tweeting my message too, so obviously a lot of people agree'd with this.
Superstision would have to be on it, maybe a few tracks that are personal to Matt too, just tracks that he genuinly loves to sing.
Signed, Sealed & Delivered would be good too, I imagine he'd throw on Feelin' Good, maybe cover a Michael Jackson track, hey even possibly re-work a Bros track ... maybe one thats not so obvious that people would suggest (IE Madly In Love or Try or something) ... Ain't Nobody is another good one as thats just an awesome flowing track to sing .. whatever the weather, theirs a few really I could think of .. but I think it would be nice for Matt because he'd get to throw on some tracks HE loves to sing & are personal to him also ... as we all love & hear tracks we love to sing ... sometimes wish were our own tracks... but thats usually the case .. you love & admire other people's work.
If Matt did this & say put it out on Itunes, obviously theirs the whole royaltys thing that would need to be assessed, but if Matt can get the studio time & would love to do it .. then I would love to have a covers album from Matt ... I think it would be awesome & he'd probably throw in a few surprises too I reckon.
But yeah, Matt mentioned this ages ago .. their was a message up on here for a while about it.
Really hope you guys can support me on this! OUT NOW IN HMV, AMAZON, PLAY & MORE (Ft Robbie Glover)

I think if he's featuring some of the stuff he's put in his show that would certainly make sense. The big band thing would certainly get him exposure to a wider audience as these albums always do pretty well. If you recall Tom Jones did an album of covers but he also I tunes with other artists which went down a storm, even I bought that. Matt could do something similar. If you record with another artist you get their fan base instantly engaged which = more album sales and exposure.

Ooo yes Claire a duet with George - that would be great! I thought Matts duet with Nicole from PCD was brilliant and would make a great single - there voices go together perfectly.

I think if matt was ever to duet with george micheal they would compare, like geroge split from wham, matt split from bros blah blah blah, maybe a covers album would be good or a swing album i dunno.
